Podcasting Ireland was established in Spring 2006 by content creators, Athena Media to provide podcasting services and showcase podcasting work.

Since then we’ve been podcasting innovators, creating original shows in diverse formats and genres, We had the first sponsored podcast channels in Ireland with 02 Making Waves, a weekly new music channel, and VHI Health Club, a consumer health show, and both ran for three years between ’05-09. We introduced businesses and media to audio and video podcasting. We trained the  Irish Times editorial staff in social media and established its first audio podcasts as far back as 2011. Our radio and podcasting work has won multiple awards, from 9 New York Gold and 1 Grand Award at the New York Radio Festival, to Gold PPI Radio and Sony Awards in UK and Ireland. More recently our radio and podcast show Pantisocracy won best radio show at the Celtic Media Awards and our podcast series The Family of Things was an award winner in 2019 New York Festival Radio Award. Our recent broadcast and radio work is the arts and culture series Mother’s Blood, Sister Songs. You can find us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Today, besides making our own podcasts, we provide bespoke podcasting and content consultancy services as well as running regular podcasting training workshops. Since November 2017 our How to Podcast and Make Better Podcasts sessions have mentored hundreds of people to turn their podcasting passion into action. Check out what people say about our workshops.
