Christmas Day 4-5pm

In a special Christmas Day edition of Pantisocracy the ‘cabaret of conversations’ host Panti Bliss, the unofficial ‘Queen’ of Ireland, hosts a gathering exploring how we draw upon the traditions of being Irish, in language, music, song, poetry and dance to re-imagine anew ourselves and our place in the world.

Her guests in this festive edition are singer and actor Lisa Lambe, Hot House Flowers frontman Liam Ó Maonlaí, former Riverdance star Colin Dunne, musician Seán Mac Erlaine and the poet Doireann Ní Ghríofa.
The programme features performances by Lisa Lambe, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Seán Mac Erlaine and Doireann Ní Ghríofa.


New Year’s Day 2-3pm

In a special New Year’s Day edition of Pantisocracy, the ‘cabaret of conversations’ hosted by Panti Bliss looks towards a new year with guests; singers Luka Bloom, Aoife Scott and Steve Wall, paralympian athlete Niamh McCarthy and Syrian human rights advocate Razan Ibraheem.

This January 1st 2018, Luka Bloom performs ‘Wayfaring Stranger’ and Aoife Scott performs the Bruce Coburn classic ‘Wondering where the lions are’. Steve Wall, actor and frontman of The Stunning, sings his song “Mama’s Going Back to Bed” and shares stories of his new movie about jazz trumpeter Chet Baker while Razan Ibraheem talks of her experience helping Syrian war refugees find a home in Ireland.






Get Off The Couch!

Here are some video podcasts from Athena Media’s recent production “Get Off The Couch!” which aired from 24th October to the 28th of November on Setanta Ireland, made with the support of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. “Get Off The Couch!” was presented by Teena Gates who led a team of 6 participants, Karen, Joe, Cathy, Damien, Maryanne and Eamonn through a range of challenges to get fit and active, which included climbing Carrantuohill, completing their first Triathlon, and abseiling down Dalkey Quarry amongst others.

Catherina McKiernan, an Olympian and Irish sporting hero, was one of the team’s mentors and showed them invaluable running advice with her chi-running technique

Ciaran”Kipper” Maguire took the team on an unforgettable rafting trip down the river Liffey. as part of Get off the Couch! from Athena Media on Vimeo.

The team cycled the Great Western Greenway a 42km trip from Westport to Achill, taking in some of the countries most beautiful landscapes.

Athena Media produce online video of WMB’s annual Conference & Awards

The Women Mean Business Conference & Awards 2012 took place in the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin on October 1. The guest speakers were Prof. Susan Vinnicombe; entrepreneur and author Sharon Wright; enterpreneur and social innovator Dawn Gibbins.

Athena Media produced a short online video documenting the events on the day. The MD of WMB Publishing Rosemary Delaney describes the significance of positive role models in a time of doom and gloom while Minister Richard Bruton talks about the need for women entrepreneurs to come to the fore-front. We also hear from leading businesswomen like Anne Heraty CEO CPL and get to know this year’s award winners including Barbara O’Connell of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland who is WMB Social Entreprenuer 2012.
